Matthew Austin Rossi was born to Marie Blanch (Chambers) Rossi of Ottawa, KS and Lardine Rossi II of Wellsville, KS on the 9th of December 1984.  He was raised on a small country farm nestled in between Ottawa and Wellsville.  He grew up around horses, cattle, hogs, but mostly sheep.  He graduated from Wellsville High School in 2003.  He graduated as “Most Likely to Join the PBR.”  After graduation he attended Missouri Valley College on a rodeo scholarship.  There he competed on the Varsity rodeo team for three years.  He then left college early to pursue a lifelong dream of training professional calf horse.  After a year of training horse he felt the Army calling and enlisted in the Army as an infantryman.  He went to OSUT (One Single Unit Training) in Ft.  Benning, GA.  He also attended Airborne school there as well.  He is now currently serving the remainder of his contract at Ft. McNair, D.C.  His hobbies include rodeo, fishing, hunting, boating, and spending time trying to become the best at each one of those.  Some of his goals for the future are to serve his time in the Army honorably, become a hunting and fishing guide when he gets out of the Army.  Finish his bachelors degree in Small Business Management, win a world title in the bull riding, and get back into riding, roping, and training horses.  He would love to get out and buy some land, be a hunting and fishing guide during the week, a professional cowboy on the weekends, and train horses anytime that he gets a chance.
