Jennifer is originally from a small town North of Seattle, WA called Snohomish. She grew up horseback and started showing western pleasure, showmanship, hunt seat and ran barrels and poles at youth rodeo and gymkhanas when she was only 7 years old. Her mother was, and still is, horse crazy and her love for quarter horses grew right into Jennifer They spent every weekend somewhere doing something with their horses.
When Jennifer left for college at Washington State University she wasn't able to bring her barrel horse with her. She thought she was going to go crazy without some equine interaction, so she joined the Intercollegiate Polo Team. Polo is a great equestrian sport and is almost as exciting as rodeo to compete in. She had more injuries in those two years than all 20 years she's been barrel racing!
The summer between Jennifer's sophomore and junior years she decided to take a job as a wrangler at a dude ranch in Colorado. She loved Colorado so much she transferred credits to Colorado State University and moved to Fort Collins, CO. That is where she met the most handsome roper/bulldogger she had ever seen! Thankfully, he fell into her trap and she and Donnie were married in January of 2003. Donnie deployed to Iraq two days after they said their vows and came back the following Fall. They were pregnant with their first son the next day! :) They still live in Fort Collins and now have two beautiful boys: Caden and Blaine.
Jennifer has a B.Sc. in Business Management and works as a veterinary technician for Heska Corporation. Donnie is a Firefighter at North Metro Fire Rescue and is a scout squad leader with HHC 157th Infantry Reg. They have four quarter horses and enjoy competing with Wyoming Rodeo Association, Colorado Professional Rodeo Association, Mile Hi Barrel Horse Association, AQHA, USTRC, ACTRA and, of course, PAFRA! This is their third year as PAFRA members and her third year as the Rocky Mountain Circuit Director. She also served as the association secretary in 2007.
